I became interested in the perception of four-dimensional objects, and their potential uses in art and architecture when I was fifteen years old. The objects pictured here are hypercubes, but only certain sides of them are visible, as when viewing an ordinary cube in three dimensions, only three of the six sides can be seen.
This study was concerned with what sides of the objects would be visible when projected onto three- or two- dimensional space, and what kinds of spaces would exist between the objects when stacked as they would exist in two- or three- dimensional space, and how they could be used as sculptures, in new media, or architectural structures, and what variations could be made to make them a viable motif in art.
