The text in these videos appears to move forward and backward while always moving towards the viewer. This effect was achieved by using four different parameters, vertical location, horizontal location, the size of the text, and color in the context of apparent three-dimensional space. The changing color of the text overlaps each previous color making it appear to move forward even while getting smaller, causing a distortion in the perception of what direction it is moving. Joseph Albers may have been an influence on these as they are both color studies and optical illusions.
